Landmarks commission finds this stone town house's arched double doors still original

This three-story house of Westchester stone is one of five on the south side of the avenue, twins of a stone row opposite. The round-headed doorways have vermiculated keystones and paneled pilasters, with pediments on ornamental consoles above them. The double doors are deeply molded below, with quadrant-shaped glazed panels at the top. When the Landmarks Preservation Commission designated the district, it found every door in this row original except at 21-12.

“The doorways are round-headed with vermiculated keystone, and the pilasters supporting the consoles and the spandrels over the arch are paneled.”
