A Harrison Place row house with a right-hand entry is built on 49th Street

39-29 49th Street was finished in 1927 as part of Harrison Place, whose row of thirteen houses on the east side of 49th Street faces west. It is the last of the flat-roofed center houses before the gabled houses at the south end, and the commission classes it as type B'. Like the other center houses, it was given a brick parapet trimmed with soldier courses, checkerboard patterning, stepped corbelled piers and a denticulated cornice.

When surveyed for the 2007 designation, 39-29 49th Street still had a historic open porch, carried on wood columns, its roof painted green. A three-part projecting bay with an asphalt-shingle roof had replaced the paired first-floor windows, and the projecting brick piers of the parapet had been removed, though bluestone coping remained. A wood railroad-tie curb bordered the yard.
