47-16 39th Avenue is built in 1927 in Roosevelt Court, turned to face the avenue

The two-story house at 47-16 39th Avenue went up in 1927 in Roosevelt Court, one of the courts of Sunnyside Gardens. Though attached to the northwest corner of the row of houses facing 48th Street, it is turned to front on 39th Avenue, the mirror image of 47-08 at the other end of the block. Its flat roof ends in a stepped parapet trimmed with soldier, stretcher and header brick courses, corbels and faceted colonettes, above a projecting bay window.

The Landmarks Preservation Commission's survey for the 2007 Sunnyside Gardens Historic District recorded several changes to this Type M house. Its parapet had been reconstructed and the brick front repointed, the stoop was a non-historic brick one, and cast-stone lions sat on a rebuilt brick cheek wall, with cast-stone finials on a brick wall at the basement. The bay window was painted white with a black roof, and at the rear the first floor had been filled in with brick.
