51-22 39th Avenue rises under a slate-shingled roof with a hipped gable near the row's east end
The 2007 landmarks report explains that the first two and last two houses of this twelve-house Harrison Place row have pitched, slate-shingled roofs whose eaves face the street, while the houses between them have flat roofs. At 51-22 and its neighbor 51-24 those roofs end in hipped gables. The back of 51-22 has four bays and is the mirror image of 51-04 at the other end of the row.
“The first two, and last two buildings have slate shingled, eaves front, pitched roofs, with hipped gables at 51-22 and 51-24 39th Avenue.”

When the Landmarks Preservation Commission surveyed this Type G house, lot 38 on block 128, for the 2007 designation, its front brick had been repointed and its windows replaced with one-over-one vinyl sash. The historic door hood and surround survived with a tarred roof, and the window bay was painted white. At the rear the surveyors found a newer door with a storm door and awning, part of the wall painted brick red, spot repointing, and brick filling the space beneath a second-floor window.
