Filed under new building application 1023 of 1908, this two-family house was one of 16 that Kilian Schurger built from 59-05 to 59-35, in a row that also takes in the flats building at 59-03, all to designs by Louis Berger & Company. Its two-story front of orange iron-spot brick, brownstone and limestone has a rounded bay running its full height and lintels cut with stylized leaves. The original stoop survives, along with bluestone steps leading down to the opening beneath it.
