Paul Stier builds 60-32 Catalpa Avenue, later fitted with a flagpole mount

This c. 1909 two-family house was built by Paul Stier from plans by Louis Berger & Company, filed as NB 1379-1909. Unlike the houses on either side, its front uses buff brick and limestone with no brownstone. Over the years it gained a stone-and-brick stoop with metal railings, a fire escape at the second story, a flagpole mount under the middle first-floor window, and light-gray stucco over its basement trim.
