Built for owner Anton Kluepfel to plans by Louis Berger & Company under permit NB 2579-1913, 60-38 Putnam Avenue is a Renaissance Revival apartment building of three stories over a basement, faced in brick and stone. Its central doorway keeps a historic stone hood on brackets, framed by fluted pilasters, and the windows on all three floors carry flat lintels with keystones. Corbelled brick pilasters flank the upper two floors and meet a band of corbelled brick below a decorated frieze and a bracketed cornice with dentils.
