Paul Stier built 60-45 Catalpa Avenue around 1909, permit NB 3059-1909, as the twin of the two-family house next door at 60-43; Louis Berger & Company drew the plans. The Renaissance Revival front has a bracketed stone door hood with a triangular pediment and incised details, and a cornice with consoles and swags. Its basement and stoop were later refaced in stone, and at the back a parged wall with a curved bay keeps a historic wooden balcony.
