Louis Berger & Company drew this Renaissance Revival flats building for the builder August Bauer, who filed it in 1908 under permit NB 2907-1908. The three-story house over a basement has four bays, three of them curved, with projecting sills in continuous bands over corbelled brick. It still had its original front door when the Landmarks Preservation Commission surveyed it, with a newer wrought-iron fence at the basement steps.
