A ten-story steel-frame warehouse replaces older loft buildings at 682 Broadway

    J. W. Stevens designed this marble-faced, steel-framed warehouse at Broadway and Great Jones Street, and his own J. W. Stevens Building Company put it up in 1902-03. It was one of the taller commercial buildings then replacing the older five- and six-story lofts in the area. By the 1920s it held offices and manufacturing lofts, and William Bears Crowell and the Public National Bank were among its later owners.
