Jacob Erbach builds 69-12 Forest Avenue, first of a set of four two-family houses

Around 1912 owner Jacob Erbach built this two-family house under New Building permit 1919-1912, one of four two-family houses that run from 69-12 to 69-18 Forest Avenue. Louis Berger & Company drew the plans: two stories over a basement, faced in buff iron-spot brick with brownstone and limestone trim, a rounded bay running the whole height of the front, and a metal cornice with dentils and festoons. Later owners took off the stoop newel posts, replaced the railings, and added a camera and a metal awning at the entrance.
