Selective Homes Inc. builds 115-82 222nd Street as one of the row's six single houses

This two-story house was built in 1931 for Selective Homes Inc. under permit NB 2168-31 and designed by Monda & Bertolazzi, one of 46 Storybook-style row houses the developer built on 222nd Street. It is one of six houses on the street that are not paired with a neighbor: it has its own vestibule, with a triangular-arched doorway and a roof that drops lower on one side, and a narrow stuccoed parapet gable.

No. 115-82 retains its wood entrance door, the wood trim on its vestibule eave, a downstairs window of leaded glass with clear and colored diamond panes, and corbelled brick brackets beneath that window. Its stuccoed brick chimney on the left is shared with No. 115-84. The stucco of the parapet gable and chimney has since been painted yellow, storm windows cover the lower first-story sash, and there are through-the-wall air conditioners on both floors.
