Wolosoff Brothers put scale models of houses like No. 116-05 on display

By May 1931 Wolosoff Brothers had scale models of the 227th Street houses, No. 116-05 among them, on view in the development's on-site administration building and promised a furnished model home by mid-June. Leon Wolosoff sold St. Albans Lawns as city living with suburban advantages: inside the New York City limits, yet a single mile from the Nassau line and from the western end of the Southern State Parkway.

No. 116-05 is a 1931 Storybook row house by Andrew Marjey and one of 16 of its type on the street: a single house with a corner entry vestibule under a flared roof and a flat parapet above one single and one paired upper window. It retains its eight-sash leaded first-floor window with colored diamond panes, upper-story half-timbering with basketweave and herringbone brick, and a textured stucco chimney it shares with No. 116-07. Its original front door has been replaced.
