Unlike its neighbors 2027 and 2033, which have newer stoops of brick and cast stone, 2031 was recorded by the commission with its historic bluestone stoop and iron railing still in place, along with one-over-one wood windows now fitted with storm sash. Its paired wood-and-glass doors carry a wood-grain finish and its main cornice is painted light grey. The stone cornice above the first floor, the door hood and the entrance surround have been painted white.
