A 2009 survey finds 2057 Gates Avenue's areaway ironwork still in place

Surveyed in 2009, the house still had its old areaway ironwork, paired wood-and-glass doors, carved limestone lintels and door hood, and a light gray cornice with modillions and swags. The buff brick front had been cleaned and repointed, the base stuccoed, the windows replaced in vinyl and the stoop rebuilt. Out back, the six-bay wall was stuccoed buff and a cellar entrance opened into the yard.

“Facade is stuccoed buff; vinyl replacement windows in all openings; light at facade; cellar entry in rear yard.”
