    C.F. & D.E. McAvoy design this end house of a seven-pair neo-Tudor row on 87th Street

Built in 1926 as one half of a double house with 35-54 87th Street (permit NB 449-1926), this house ends a row of fourteen along 87th Street's west side from 35th Avenue to 37th Avenue. Its pair is one of the "A" pairs, in which the two halves differ: one has a front-facing gable, the other a hipped roof with jerkin ends and a shed dormer. The 1993 report found nearly all the original six-over-six wood windows still in place behind storm sash.

“…the "A" houses have different designs ("a-b"), while the "B" and "C" houses are mirror images…”
