The five-story building at 57-59 Seventh Avenue South was built in 1927-28 for Guiseppe Fiorentino, on one of the irregular lots left when Seventh Avenue was extended through in 1914-17. Architect Salvatore A. Patti used patterned and textured brick with cast-stone or terra-cotta panels to give the small commercial and residential building a rustic look.

A two-story commercial extension is added, and the Cozy Village Bar later occupies the ground floor

In 1937 architects Adolph Witschard and Raymond Baxter Eaton added a two-story commercial extension to 57-59 Seventh Avenue South.
