Louis Berger & Company designs 58-15 70th Avenue, a Renaissance Revival house for Kilian Schurger

Around 1909 this two-story-and-basement house went up for its original owner, Kilian Schurger, under permit NB 1819-1909, as part of a nine-house row of two-family homes on 70th Avenue. Louis Berger & Company gave it a full-height rounded bay, limestone door hood and window lintels carved with stylized foliage, and a cornice with egg-and-dart molding. The stoop has since been replaced and the newel posts taken off, though the windows may still be original.
