Louis Berger & Company designs a gray-brick, angled-bay house for Katherina Doenecke

Around 1909, under new building permit NB 824-1909, Louis Berger & Company drew plans for this two-story house for Katherina Doenecke, one of eight two-family houses spanning 58-33 to 58-47 69th Avenue. The front is gray iron-spot brick with an angled bay, continuous limestone sills, flush limestone lintels and a bracketed limestone hood over the door. Over the years the stoop lost its newel posts, its railings were replaced, and a new door frame with side panels was installed; the areaway now holds a planting bed.

The couple eventually made their home in White Plains, New York.
