Around 1908 Paul Stier put up this two-family house under new-building permit 349-1908, part of a block front of 23 two-family row houses and one flats building from 60-02 to 60-48 69th Avenue. Louis Berger & Company designed it in the Renaissance Revival style. The house occupies lot 21 of Queens tax block 3516.

60-42 69th Avenue trades its porch base for a garage entrance
Berger's design gave the house a curved bay the full height of the facade, a porch spanning its width, rough-faced stone lintels, decorative brick banding and a cornice trimmed with swags, consoles and egg-and-dart. The porch has since been replaced apart from its roof, set on non-historic metal columns, and a garage entrance with two lights above it was opened at the porch base. A side door was also cut beneath the stoop.
“…non-historic garage entrance at porch base; non-historic door opening in side wall under stoop; two light fixtures above garage entrance…”
