In October 1908 the New-York Tribune reported that the Johnson firm had sold 12 east-side lots on Manida Street to the Manida Company, another firm James F. Meehan led as president. A permit for 24 semi-detached two-family houses, 846 Manida Street among them, was filed on November 24, with Meehan hiring the architects Daube & Kreymborg. The east-side row was completed on June 15, 1909, slightly ahead of the west side.

846 Manida Street mirrors No. 842 with a conical roof over its rounded bay
Built as the mirror image of No. 842, 846 Manida Street has a molded door lintel on scrolled brackets, a keystone lintel over the window above the door, and a conical roof crowning its rounded southern bay beneath a shared hipped parapet. Its stoop, cheek walls, iron railing and historic double door have all been replaced, the iron cornice and finial are gone, and a side entry with its own stoop was added on the south.
