The house at 92 West Houston Street began about 1828 as a two-and-a-half-story Federal row house with a peaked roof and dormers, built for the developer Andrew Sticher as one of four at numbers 88 to 94. A 1915 alteration removed the stoop and rebuilt the lower stories with a store and internal stairway. In 1925, with Richard Claverino as owner, it was raised to three stories and given a brick parapet.
