In 1911 the G. X. Mathews Company put up 1885 Cornelia Street, one of nine flats filed together under permit NB 1316-11 on the west side of Cornelia Street between Onderdonk and Woodward Avenues, all designed by Louis Allmendinger. Its pale-yellow brick front over an amber base has arched amber lintels, a carved limestone doorway with a bracketed pediment, and a cornice trimmed with swags and cartouches. By 2010 the stoop had been rebuilt in brick and cast stone.
