The six-story Lawrence Terrace went up in 1950-51 for the developer Lawrence House, Inc., one of a number of apartment houses added to Jackson Heights after World War II. Philip Birnbaum split the long front into three parts with two wide light courts and put a driveway door in the northern section leading to a garage behind. Its plain red brick carries only light Georgian touches: a pedimented entrance portico, two oval windows beside it and header-brick bands.
