A pink rooftop penthouse is reported to be where John Lennon and May Pang lived in 1974
Real estate and decor sites say the candy-pink, three-floor penthouse on top of 434 East 52nd Street was the 1974 "lost weekend" home of John Lennon and May Pang. Ephemeral New York is not sure it is the same penthouse, since Pang described a small one in her book. The rooftop house, with two chimneys and a greenish peaked roof, is also reportedly where Bob Gruen photographed Lennon in a New York City T-shirt.

Lennon and May Pang spot a flying saucer from their balcony
On the night of August 23, 1974, Lennon stepped onto the balcony of their penthouse apartment and called Pang to look at something in the sky. In her 1983 memoir she described a flattened-cone shape with a bright red light on top and white lights around its rim, about the size of a Lear jet and close enough to hit with a thrown object. She wrote that the police they called said other New Yorkers had reported it too.
