Aaron L. Resnick (1914-1986), trained at New York University's architecture school and City College's engineering school, designed this house in 1948-49. He was best known for twelve houses at Usonia, a cooperative community in Pleasantville, New York, whose site plan, roads and three houses were by Frank Lloyd Wright. Completed in 1949 for Samuel Schneweiss, this Mid-Twentieth-Century Modern house by Aaron L. Resnick was possible only after the Fieldston Property Owners Association loosened design guidelines that had favored traditional styles. It mixes textured multi-colored brick with horizontal and vertical wood siding, banded windows, an angled enclosed rear porch, and monitor windows cut into the back of the roof. The Landmarks report describes the house as substantially intact.

“Completed in 1949 for owner Samuel Schneweiss and designed by architect Aaron L. Resnick, the house was constructed after the Fieldston Property Owners Association relaxed…”
