A three-story flats building with a ground-floor store rises at 69th and Forest avenues

This brick and stone flats building dates to about 1908; its original owner is unknown, and its design is attributed to Louis Berger & Company. A foliated cast-iron column stands at the first story facing 69th Avenue, while the upper floors have scrolled limestone lintels and a bracketed pressed-metal cornice ornamented with swags, dentils and scrolled modillions. In the mid-twentieth century the ground-floor storefront and its cornice were taken out and the space became living quarters behind infill brick. A one-story brick garage at the rear faces Forest Avenue.
