The six-story Westleigh, with a basement garage reached by a rear alley, went up in 1947-48 on the end of the block between 84th and 85th Streets, one of the apartment houses built in Jackson Heights after World War II. Rothstein gave it two deep lightcourts and a shallow recess at the center of the 35th Avenue front, where a classical doorway sits beneath an iron balcony. Brick laid to look like stone quoins, dentils and modillions, and a brick pediment on the parapet give the facades a Georgian flavor.
