In 1828 the Littles bought two lots from Jacob B. Taylor, and the matching houses were finished in 1829. Each was two and a half stories tall, with Flemish-bond brick and a low stoop. By the end of the 19th century both had been raised to three stories, and No. 104 still keeps its stoop. A window across its fourth floor and a brick pediment with small stone obelisks on the roof parapet were added in the early 20th century.
