Permit NB 1044-1926 covered this house and its mirror-image partner at 34-18, the northern pair of five double houses Tappan designed for the Queensboro Corporation along the west side of 87th Street. As an outer "A" pair, it has a gabled slate roof with chimneys at the ends and a shared hip-roofed porch at the center. Each house has its own garage at the side, leaded transoms over the doors and a rear garden, and a nearly identical group by Tappan stands back-to-back with it on 86th Street.
