Landmarks commission finds the Delafield Craftsman house on Tibbett Avenue largely intact
Read more
When Fieldston became a historic district in January 2006, the commission linked this house to the Craftsman style by its massive stone walls, its exposed rafters and its stuccoed chimney. Its walls are fieldstone and terra-cotta block, partly whitewashed with stucco, and part of the second story overhangs on brackets. It sits on a steep, terraced lot with rock outcroppings, fieldstone retaining walls and historic wrought-iron railings and gate, and the commission judged it largely intact.
“Its heavy stone walls, exposed roof rafters, and stucco-covered chimney link it to the Craftsman style. The house remains largely intact.”
