Developer Charles Fritz put up 57-25, 57-27, 57-29 and 57-31 Catalpa Avenue together in 1913 under a single new-building permit, NB 302-13, on lots 33, 31, 30 and 28 of tax block 3465. Architect Louis Allmendinger gave the group Renaissance and Romanesque Revival fronts of pale yellow brick above an amber brick base, with round- and segmental-arched lintels and a carved limestone entrance under a pedimented hood.
